I just finished sewing another bivy sack. This one is Momentum fabric on top and coated nylon on the bottom. I made it large enough to cover my best winter sleeping bag, so it is very roomy for a summer bag. I put one 30" zipper down the side, and then one 30" zipper across the top, shoulder to shoulder. As a result of two zippers, the total weight was up to 8.6 ounces.

If I had done the whole thing out of Momentum, made it snugger, and did something lighter with a zipper, I probably could have kept the weight to 5 ounces.

The top is black. The bottom is black. The zippers are black. There isn't a lot to see. No net. No windows.

If the fabric had some unique design pattern to it, then a photo would be nice. If the overall design had some unique feature sewn in, then a photo would be nice. If my sewing workmanship was something great, then a photo would be nice.

This thing is plain black, so shooting a photo of it would look about the same as shooting a black cat eating licorice in a coal bin at midnight.

So I'll play dumb here...
I've never seen a black bivy before... Bob could you please post a picture of yours? That would be great.

Seriously though, I wouldn't mind seeing what you did for bug protection. I am considering some options for my tarp setup.

Since photographer Bob won't play along. Here are couple of shots of my all black giant sized Meteor bivy. Big enough for a large Neoair and my 25 degree WM bag and my 6'3" self with room for my pack if need be. Nanoseeum mesh, momentum top, and silnylon bottom.

"I've never seen a black bivy before... Bob could you please post a picture of yours? That would be great."

Actually, there are no photos at all.

"Seriously though, I wouldn't mind seeing what you did for bug protection. I am considering some options for my tarp setup."

I didn't say anything about bug protection, because there is none.
