WTB absurdly light wind jacket on 04/02/2010 00:58:54 MDT Print View

Looking for a medium, full zip, hood preferable but not a deal breaker. Hoodless would have to be more than absurdly light and ultra cheap though... something similar to a Golite Ether or Patagonia Houdini. Those work too. Used is quite alright if not overly modified or beat up.

Give mpgear.com a call in the morning - $32 for Golite Ether:

They may have some in, even though it may say out of stock. This has been the case for me with two items so far and they have excellent customer service.

I just ordered the Montane Lite-Speed Pertex Wind Jacket (has hood). 165 grams, 6 oz. $42.85

Montane Slipstream Jacket, Pertex quantum, 85 grams 3 oz, no hood. $39.85

Someplace else had both on sale if they don't have your size, search BPL for a recent thread on these.

mpgear is out of stock on those, will not get any more. Only small wheat grass left

The hoodless is starting to appeal. Since I do use a poncho. I might go in that Montana Slipstream direction.

Though still! if anyone has something laying around...
I like the looks of the ether. Zombie runner has one for 60... :\

I have women's size medium Arc'teryx celeris for sale. It is hoodless and comes under 3oz. Though you probably won't want a women's jacket, I thought I'd put it out there.

I've got a medium Houdini, blue, great shape, I'd sell for $80 including shipping (but not including paypal fee).

Sierra Trading Post has the Marmot Ion on sale for $25.97. Not the litest windshirt at 6 oz., but not too bad.

At this point I'm inclined to either go for a new Ether over the considerably more spendy Houdini, or the Wisp is appealing at under $40.

I don't know about fit on Womens' sizes. I'm too concerned about fashion, but the cut can be a little weird.
