CAn anyone suggest a good way to secure the top lid of the Snowpeak Trek 700cc pot so that the contents (stove, cannister) does not spill out?

1. Buy Caldera Cone
2. Find plastic cup that fits snugly between rolled CC and inside of mug.
3. ???
4. Profit!

Otherwise, I would just use a rubber band. I use the stuff sack the mug came with for all my odds-n-ends.

you could use an old sock, and wrap it around the unit.

If I'm carrying my cannister stove setup, the original SP700 mesh bag is optional and I use two wide rubber bands to hold the lid on. Inside I carry a 110g cannister of fuel, SP LiteMax stove, legs for cannister (from jetboil setup), a disposable lighter with built-in LED, TI folding spoon, and plastic scrubby (mesh bag from a pack of pearl onions).

If I am carrying my esbit setup, I always use the original mesh bag with a ziploc snack bag over the bottom of the pot (to protect against residue); rubber bands are optional but usually carried. Inside I have a cutoff plastic waterbottle that fits the full diameter of the SP700, my spoon, TI wing stove (in ziplock), lighter/LED, DIY baking kit, and the fuel tabs.

+1 on cuben stuff sack from Joe - they're awesome and he is great to work with!

One thing that I've been wanting to try in order to make some of my lids fit tightly with more precision is to take up some of the play with food grade silicone caulk around the lip of the lid. I would lat a slim bead and then let it dry in place before using the lid.

What's you're cooking method? I use freezer bags, so I use my cozy. It's an old fleece hat that works well as a freezer bag cozy or to insulate my SP 700 when I'm using it as a mug. Thinking about it, I'm going to add a drawcord around the rim.
