I have the Titan cookset (http://cascadedesigns.com/msr/cookware/fast-and-light-cookware/titan-2-pot-set/product)
and will only be using the 1L pot (smaller of two) on a thru-hike. As shown in the photo in the link, the lid is far better suited for the larger of the 2 pots (though it fits snugly on both).

I'd like to make my own (or buy, separately) a suitable titanium lid for the 1L pot. Something that will hold-up for a couple thousand miles, if possible.

Any help?

Might be a whole lot easier to buy a used 1 litre titanium pot with lid!

Have you seen the Jason Klass-style lids for the Snowpeak pots? Well, Donald from Four Dog Stove is making them now. He says he'll make them for the MSR 1L, but he needs to have an order of 6 lids to make it worth his while.

If you're interested, we need to find 4 more people.

The lids are nice. I have one for my Snowpeak Trek 900.

What do you think?

If Four Dog will make 6, I'll certainly be up for one for my Titan cookset 1lt pan.

I went ahead and emailed Donald, requesting more information. Once I hear back from him, I'll post details.

In the meantime, let's try to rally some interest in these lids. I've seen Jason Klass' video of this man's handiwork, and it looks really sharp. Attention to detail, etc.

ANYONE else out there with the MSR Titan 1L cookpot who'd be interested in buying a titanium lid that actually FITS the pot?

I would like to get a lid for my MSR Ti Cup.....do you suppose that would count toward the six even though it is a different size?

I'm thinking it would be the same work, just smaller, no?

Any idea of the price yet?

The 1L pot has a ever so slightly larger diameter than the Snow Peak titanium bowl and the large pot of their 3 piece compact (same pot, I think, as in the new hybrid cookset). So if you think it'll work on my SP stuff, I'll take 2.

The 1L Titan is 5.5" in diameter

The 1.5L Titan is 6.25" in diameter

The 2L Titan is 6.75" in diameter

I'm interested in a lid for all three, but especially the 1L.

I really don't know, but it's my sense that Don wants to make runs of (at minimum) 6 of the same size lid.

That's my sense of it anyway given our email correspondence.

My SP bowl and pot are 5.375" diameter, so the custom lid is slightly oversized...should work OK. Right?

Bailey, which SP pot is that? I may be interested in lids for our SP pots, especially the 900 (know that doesn't help with the 1L run, sorry).

This is the SP bowl:


and are stackable.

The bowl stores inside the large pot and the small pot fits inside the bowl. I can get 2 bowls (maybe a 3rd) where the lid can cover the set.

I just want a lid for the 1L Titan Pot if the price is right.

It's the pot I use the most and I can live with the lid supplied for the 1.5L pot.

I went to my local K=Mart and purchased It. Cost was between$6-$7. I took the little black knob off and added a piece of knotted triptease cord to handle the lid.

Here's some more info I got from Don via email:

1 lit Titan....... $ 16.00ppd (wt no more then 32 grams)

1,5lit Titan...... $ 18.00ppd (wt no more then 38 grams)

2lit Titan........ $ 20.00ppd (wt no more then 45 grams)

When we order (presuming that we do a group order of some sort) I'm going to mail him my Titan pots (I have all 3) and he'll use them as samples to make sure that the lids have a perfect fit.
