I have the Snow Peak stoves. Can I put them in checked luggage without fuel?

If TSA says you can ; ). I hear it's okay, but some recommend wiping them off so they look clean and don't smell.

Make sure that your stove is thoroughly clean -- not even the smallest whiff of fuel -- and you can put it inside either your checked or carry-on luggage.

Fuel is the issue, not stove. Fuel can never be brought on the airplane -- not checked and not carried on.

You can't check the canisters. The stove is fine though. Your best bet is to find an outdoors store where you are going and buy your fuel there.

I thought the stove was allowed, but I've had inconsistent experiences with TSA. Thanks for the responses!

Yeah, TSA is ALWAYS consistent with how they handle things......or not.
