>>Ho Hum!? Thanks Nick for belittling our experience. If a ground-shaking event bores you, I am saddened. NATURE IS NEVER BORING
No intent to belittle anyone. We have 1,000's of earthquakes each year in California. 100's daily in the Mammoth area. My home in Palm Springs suffered minor structural damage in the Landers quake. I was living in the LA area during the Northridge quake. I was staying in the top floor of the largest hotel in Pasadena during the Big Bear quake. And was backpacking near Mammoth during the large quake in the late 80's. They are just a part of life in California, as are tornados in the midwest and hurricanes in the coast area. Nothing to get excited about unless the are major disaters.
I have seen scores of people freak out over them and actually scream and cry during after shocks. I have seen people just up and leave, leaving their homes and belongings behind.
A snow storm in Palm Springs gets me excited :). The last one was in 1979.
