Well it looks like Joe is back and making new packs.

Pack / ZPacks Dyneema X 20 / Spring 10 - Joe' 2000 cu in pack Dyneema (Zilch)

Pack / ZPacks Dyneema X 26 / Spring 10 - Joe' 2600 cu in pack Dyneema (Z1)

Pack / ZPacks Dyneema X 32 / Spring 10 - Joe' 3200 cu in pack Dyneema (Z2)

He has added a new option which is mesh pockets replacing the pack material pockets.

I also see that a new color cuben is listed under packs...Forest Green in addition to the Sky Blue.

Well Alpinelite Gear looks to be close to having some interesting shelters available in 2010. The web site has a new look (really nice) and shows shelters with price, but are not available for purchase yet.

Shelter / Alpinelite - Strata I / A cat cut shelter with zippered beak (8.9 oz for $89)
Shelter / Alpinelite - Bub Shelter I (use with Strata) / a bug tent/bivy sized for one (9.7 oz for $99)

He also has a Strata III shown and Bug Shelter 1.25/1.5.

Gossamer Gear 2010

Packs - All Small torso size packs which currently use Gossamer Gears signature wide shoulder straps will be replaced by shoulder straps that are narrower - better for small shouldered/short individuals.

Tent - Dubbed the "Diamond" - a small one person shelter...supposed to be easier to setup than The One. Hasn't begun testing yet so probable date summer 2010.

Titanium Goat 2009

- Raven Bivy....already is available.

Scaarp 2 (Mark II) on 12/22/2009 12:10:30 MST Print View

The new, longer fly Scarp 2 is possibly coming out this spring or early summer. Likely similar to the Scarp 1 longer fly W/venting zippers at the hem on each end.

Montrail: Per an email from Montrail: "Next spring Montrail will introduce a new style called the AT Plus which will be similar to the older Hardrock style."

I hope so, because the old women's Hardrock was perfect for me, while the newer ones have no built-in support--sort of like slopping around in bedroom slippers--not what I want for the trail!

Gossamer Gear, per December email newsletter:
"1. We will soon be carrying the Dri Ducks rain gear suits again and will be adding the poncho as well. We quit selling these in the past due to some issues we had with them that have been addressed and we are happy to be selling them again. Look for them in the coming weeks.
2. We have several LT4 accessories coming in the next few weeks as well. We now have a stainless steel camera mount/monopod attachment for the LT4s that have the strap mod. It is groovy, it works, and it is coming soon. Also we have an LT4 extender that we are working on, a very simple carbon fiber piece that will make a Lightrek4 about 6 feet tall, good for those using pyramid style tents.
3. We have just about nailed down GG Trail Ambassador Rik Christensens new pack cover design and will be busting those out this spring as well. This one has been through several revisions and a fair bit of testing and I will tell you there is nothing else like it out there.

There is of course a LOT of other new stuff we are actively working on including new lighter tents, tarps, bivys, a thru-hiker pack, an airflow Sitlight for desert hiking, etc..so stay tuned. Please email us if you have ideas or preferences on what we should be working on. We would love to hear from you!"

Define soon! ;-)

Thom knows much better than I do, but as far as I know, he's made no commitment to bring back a Revelation, but he's considering it. I don't think before Spring if he does, though. If you're really interested, I'd suggest emailing him and letting him know that. The more people that express interest, the more likely he'll be to make one!

The "Super" option/upgrade for all MLD packs is now listed on the MLD site.

"Super" Prophet: +4oz, cost +$50.00
"Super" Exodus: +5oz, cost +$50.00
"Super" Ark: +6oz, cost $50.00

The "Super" option/upgrade replaces the outer mesh used for all exterior pockets and the silnylon used for the extension sleeve with the tougher dyneema x material. Added durability for off trail and alpine use (abuse).
