Guns, health, religion, me vs. you, us vs. them...

and then there's Bonnie Prince Billy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnhKUm4HitU
and I feel like everything's alright.

Cheers everyone...blasphemers, rapture-lovin' right-wing nutjobs, smelly commie-treehuggers, zealots of all shapes, colors, and sizes, and yes, all the BPL OCD gram weenies and gear nerds too: all of you.

Wow, Craig, thanks much. Never heard of the guy, but after the vid went to iTunes (the ultimate in UL music) and downloaded an album (Bonnie Prince Billy sings Greatest Palace Music). Great stuff. Thanks for the introduction.

Since it's something we (hopefully) can't fight about, hows about we turn this into the post your favorite folk/bluegrass youtube links thread?

Maybe we all need a breather, huh?

Here's a SWEET one:
John Prine- Angel from Montgomery, live 2004

Ah, I've loved Angel from Montgomery ever since hearing the live version by Bonnie Raitt. Incredible.

Okay, not really folk/bluegrass, but here's three of my favorite performers. The first is Regina Spektor singing Fidelity. The second, Ohio by Over the Rhine, a truly haunting song. And the third link is for kd Lang singing Hallelujah, my christmas offering to y'all. Three of my favorite performers. Seen them all live. They're incredible. Enjoy.

One of my favorite folk/ blues singer right now is Zee Avi, from, of all places, Indonesia:

Monte

Honey Bee

I also really love Sean Hayes. Here he is singing All For Love

Great thread! Sorry to everyone for my own earlier contribution to the mayhem.

Okay, gotta add this link. It's not a song, but it is holiday related! And it's very, very funny! I send out this link every year around this time.

Doug...in a previous life I was an independent music store clerk. If my gear addiction is bad...my music fixation was TERRIBLE.

it ain't bluegrass and folk (sorta), but...

i can't be angry when i'm listening to Boy Least Likely To "Be Gentle With Me"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7KieUW6HR8

and if ya wanna stay political, go with The Decemberists "Valerie Plame"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIu_iM8s1x8

and +1 on Iron & Wine, for sure. and how about Sufjan Stevens? and about 1,000 more...
