there is big diference in hiking in US and in Russia. first dif/ is that we have no word Hiking =) we say Turism or Pohod=)

I absolutely love the photo of the two campfires under the trees!

I've been wanting to hike in Russia for many years. It's so big I don't even know where to get started, but two places I'd like to visit are Sakhalin, Kamchatka and the Verkhoyansk Mountains in Siberia. There are of course many other places I'd like to go and learn about, too. Living here in Japan, Russia is right there, and yet it still seems very far away.

Please tell us more!

Nice Tent. My dad had a tent like that! 12lbs or roughly 9kg for the fireplace and chimney.

But 12 in one tent? 12 people passing gas. Oh boy, don't bring beans.

Just found this topic. A little piece of Russia on BPL. Very interesting to read impressions about some familiar to me places\situations\customs from people all over the world. Makes me think once again that we all have much in common(no matter where we live).
