This is some of the most beautiful scenery I have seen posted on a trip report. The pictures are incredible. Not for the fain of heart looks like. Thanks for posting and I hope others can get some inspiration from this adventure of yours because I certainly did.

Thank you both for the kind words. It was indeed a great adventure. I was 50 at the time and in my second year of climbing. That I even got invited was a mystery to me, but I didn't hesitate long enough to give the team leader a chance to change his mind. We missed the summit by less than 300' due to serious icefall peeling off after a recent storm. but to this day I look back on it as one of my very finest mountain experiences. It isn't all about the summit in my book.
