Some friends and I have scheduled a 3-day break in early December and are looking for ideas for a backpacking trip away from the snow. We're based out of Sacramento and the East SF Bay area. We had originally planned to do the Skyline to the Sea trail, but the trail camps will be closed from November through March. Now we're considering heading out to the Lost Coast instead. Is the Lost Coast going to be a viable destination in December? Where else would you recommend?

Lots and lots of rain but may be sunny and best trip ever. Also if your doing the beach trail December is the highest tides of the year.
