WTB: Solo Tent, Bag, and Pad on 09/02/2009 23:39:26 MDT Print View

I want to buy a light 1 man tent, a small, light bag that is rated for at least 20-F, and a sleeping pad.

I'm not looking to spend much. I am an experienced hiker but new to camping on the trail, so not sure it's something I want to sink a lot of money into yet.

I'm looking at ~$100 tents like the Eureka Spitfire or Kelty Crestone

~$150 bags like the Kelty Light Year 20 and the The North Face Cat's Meow 20

If you have anything for sale, or any suggestions for gear, please let me know!

Thanks.

Jason

I have a Walrus Swift and a newer Walrus model I can't remember. It was the precursor to the Hubba. It came out just before MSR bought Walrus, so it was sold under both names.

I keep prograstinating on selling these so if you are interested send me a email and I will give you more details. Prices will be low as I do want to get unload them.

They both weigh in the 3 lbs range.

I also have Osprey Aether 60, the original, lighter model. Great pack but I went on to a frameless one. It is in very good shape.

And I have ThermaRest 3/4 ultralight. The first model. The 1" thick one.

All this stuff I had been planning on selling but just can't seem to get around to it, so prices will be good.

Mark, how much for the tents, and what is the model of the newer one?

I have a lightly used REI Lite-Core self inflating pad (Regular length) I would sell for $40 shipped USPS CONUS.

27oz, 1.5 inches thick, includes original stuff sack and unused patch kit.

I upgraded to a NeoAir.

Used about 10 times, no holes, stain or other damage. Always stored laid out flat under my couch.

PM with interest/questions. Paypal only.

The spitfire is a good tent.
Swap out the steel stakes to titanium and you will be at 46 oz. Got mine for $95 on Amazon.

As far as pads, you can get a blue foam pad at walmart for like $7-8 ??. I use one under my neoair which helps insul and shoulder and hip bump as I am a side sleeper.

A slightly trimmed blue foam pad weighs 4 oz.

I have a new thermarest prolite pad short that I want to sell. Weighs 11 oz.

Nothing on bags though. sounds like you have a hookup above, or you could go to spadout.com and find something cheap.

Sunny sports has a Eureka Casper for $77. Rated to 15dF. I had one, it does not stuff very small and it was too narrow for me. Nice bag though and sub 3# in a regular.
