Does this make any sense ??
Looking for a 40dF quilt that I can use alone or inside a Montbell UL SS #2.

My pattern is exactly 3 sq yards, so it would be 7.5 oz of climasheild, and about 2 oz of cuben fiber.

Should come in at about 10-11 oz. Similar to Tims down quilt.

I figure with Cuben I will have to rebuild it at some time in the future, so just rip a seams flip it inside out and go to work. Easier than down anyway.

will be very easy to do.

How do you plan for air to enter. In my bag i used a momentum strip. Bill F. made some type of air-port in his cuben climashield bags.

Not sure yet. Either like you did or sealed with a port.

I already built one as a test run with cheap materials from walmart and insul from joanns, so I know exactly the shape and foot box I want.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone played around with a semi inflatable quilt ?? I am sure its been done somewhere in the world. Sort of like a exped synthetic synmat where each side would be bonded. You could do it if you glued the edges, otherwise the seams would need to be on the outside. If I was going to put a port in anyway it would make sense. Seems like it might be a little warmer for the weight and size.

Not sure it would be worth all the trouble, and it would be a lot of gluing.
