I am planning on leaving tomorrow for a 6 day 5 night CT Section hike. Please let me know what I can par back on. The night at higher evevations are getting nippy now so I am packed for it. My pack is 28lbs(w 1.5l of water & food) on a scale, and food accounts for 7lbs of that weight. I am carring foil packed meats and gorp this trip.

Your list is fine especially considering we'll have some cold and maybe even snow the next day or two depending on where you are up high. Which section BTW?

You can save quite a bit of weight but it's not by leaving any one item at home, you need to pare the whole system down. I'd probably have more food too but that's just me.

Thank you for your input. Seg 45,&6. What would you consider I rework in my kit?
