TMG!!!... TimMarshalGear.com

or

tmg.com... As in Tim Marshall Gear!

Either way it sticks out in your mind and your name's all over it! And, you could have a subtitle... something witty... that indicates what kind of gear you specialize in. after a while people will know just by reputation like when they see "MLD" or "GG" and "GVP."

Didn't read some of the earlier name suggestions. So, sorry if it's already been mentioned.

Hmmmmm. I love the simplicity of Kendall's suggestion. You could always mix the two.

TimMarshallGear, for the enLIGHTened backpacker (or traveler or whatever). Get someone artistic to make you a logo of a budda-type dude wearing a backpack and holding trekking poles.

then either tmg.com or timmarshallgear.com would work (should probably get both and have them point to the same site).

Gosh, ain't brainstorming about the most fun you can have at the computer!

NLI10.ME is available.

The .me registry has a more personal flavour to it than the .com commercial registry I think.

Just a thought.

Ha, how about you have a secondary site selling guns and grenades and it could be called NiL8.me

Custom Tim Marshall infant and toddler bags on 09/17/2009 07:49:05 MDT Print View

Here are some COOL items that Tim Marshall made for me. The fit is perfect, the craftsmanship is beautiful, and the weights are great (7.4 oz for the infant, 9.2 oz for the toddler). The bags are Climashield XP. They have a cinch 6" above the bottom to shorten the bags but extend them as kids grow. Henry and Lily used these on a trip last weekend and they were PERFECT! Let me also say that Tim was great to work with, helping me through my endless questions and modifications. All of the items turned out better than expected- I couldn't be happier! Thank you Tim!!!

Henry also has a custom TMOutdoors poncho/tarp- cool stuff! ddd

Cool Doug! Now there are some satisfied customers, especially the little one!! =-) Love that first pic. Good to see you are teaching them to appreciate sleeping bags early on.

I gotta say - NICE work Tim and continued nice job to Doug for pushing his kids in the right direction and making good gear available to them so they can better enjoy their experience.

Doug,

Very excited to see how well everything is working out. Did you also post on the original kid's bag thread where these bags have also been discussed. I already made another kid's bag (actually a quilt this time) and want people to know these are available, and much lighter than the other kid's bags out there.

Also, can i use these pics on my site?

How does the poncho hood fit? the rest looks a little big yet.

Tim,

If you're not already doing so (can't tell from any pics) you should decide on your name and sew a small, relatively inconspicuous tag on each product with that tag (and I'd put the website address on each tag as well).

FWIW.

The newer (but older), kidless (unless you count the puppies), east coast Doug

Doug,

I agree and eventually will do that. Right now i am only making a few hundred bucks a month doing this. Not enough to order a bunch of tags at this point.

Tim,

Those are awesome! I really like the extra 6 inches and draw string idea.

Doug,

Your kids are adorable, man! And, I agree with Jolly Green. Good on you for starting them out early.

I have just one suggestion. You might want to cut that Torsolite and closed-cell pad down to their torso size... I'm just sayin'! LOL

Thanks everyone! This was Lily's first backpacking trip at 2 months, and Henry's 9th at 3 years. He can now identify consistently over 10 plants and just LOVES the outdoors. It's so much fun to make this a part of their lives! Thanks to Tim for solving the bag problem that no one else has!

Tim- yeah, he'll be growing into the poncho, and that's a good thing! Of course you can use any images or any quotes from me on your site- anything I can do to help!

Kendall- YES! Torso length infant sleeping pads!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!

Just wanted to announce that i finally got around to launching the new site www.enlightenedequipment.com

I don't have a complete selection of big three items as of yet (i do plan to offer a SUL big3, just give it time) but you can check out my quilts. I added a climashield/cuben quilt and a taffeta/climashield quilt to get the price down as close to $100 as possible.
