New web site not working on 11/11/2009 01:26:56 MST Print View

Tim,

Your new site www.enlightenedequipment.com is apparently not working. Have a look.

I'm pretty interested in the quilt with Climashield.

It was down at some point last night. I was trying to get some info off it and couldn't get on. The site that does my hosting was also down. Everything looks to be working now.

A little off topic, but did you get my message regarding the pack cover?

How about posting the new name as an edit to the OP on page one of this thread? I only read all five pages 'cause I already knew how good tim's work is.

Tim--I think you can actually get tags pretty cheaply, and without requiring a huge order. My mother-in-law bought a pack of 50 or so with my wife's name on them to put on knitted projects my wife completes, and I think they were fairly cheap.

I wouldn't get too wrapped up in branding, marketing, website design, etc., at this point. The quality of your work speaks for itself (and speaks loudly, in these forums!), so at this point the best marketing strategy is probably to continue doing good work. Your name is out there, people see what you're doing, and it sounds like you have about as many orders as you can keep up with, unless you decide to go to the next level and make this your full-time job.

I am currently looking into some simple tags (well my mother in law is).

I have more orders now that i can handle in a reasonable time. This is great, but means that i am going to have to cut back my custom services as making the shelters is more time consuming and people who want a quilt that will only take me 1/2 day to make are having to wait 4 weeks before i can start it. I am thinking now that as of Dec 1 i will discontinue custom work so i can try and get caught up.

I am also making steps to move toward doing this more than just a few days a week. It will be awhile before anything changes here though.

"Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door""

Tim,
I am glad to hear you are getting so many orders. You will find people will wait for what they really want.

You have become a victim of your own success.

Looking forward to playing with my quilt-Thanks for all you hard work.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have updated the site to reflect a change in material supplier and a price drop of $30 for the Prodigy quilt in .9oz fabric. This has resulted in my removing the 1.1 fabric since the prices are very similar and I have also removed the Provident as it wasn't causing much interest.

Just wanted to let everyone know about the big price drop!

Tim,

The site looks great and I'm interested. However, there aren't any weights listed on the quilts. I know that they can only be approximations since each quilt is MTO, but do you have any approximates?

you can use the quiltcalc spreadsheet on the site (should be a link on every quilt page) It will get your real close. FYI 5ozXP quilts are turning out heavy by 3-4oz. Everything else is right on, within .25-.5oz so i think the 5oz XP must be running heavy (warmer) just so you know.

If you can't get quiltcalc to work, just e-mail me what you're looking at and size and i'll plug the nums in on my end.

AS OF MARCH 1 I WILL NOT BE TAKING NEW ORDERS TO ALLOW MYSELF TO GET CAUGHT UP AND WORK ON SOME THINGS FOR UPCOMING TEST TRIPS. IF YOU WERE PLANNING TO ORDER SOMETHING I WILL TAKE E-MAIL ORDERS FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK (THROUGH MARCH 7 2010)
