I'm looking to learn how to take care of my bike.

Is there anyone here that can suggest some resources (books, online forums, etc.) that they've found useful for learning bike maintenance?

Thanks,
Dave

REI gives free basic classes as do most bike shops. I just boght a book, it isn't rocket science. Are going to be doing this at home or are you going on a long trip. I switched to a single speed because its zero maint. Alikona unit

Yeah, I don't think it'll be too tough to learn. Definitely not rocket science. I was just hoping for a good primer that would definitively say "get these tools for this job and this is how you do it". Also, I wouldn't mind finding the cycling world's equivalent of BPL. Forums are a good place to lear stuff.

I'm starting to use my bike to commute to work now that the MTA has raised fairs, so I'll be doing this at home.

Nice single track, by the way.

I just ordered this book:

Hope it's good.

Well singlespeeds aren't exactly *zero* maintenance...

The Zinn and the art book is good. I might even own it. If I can find it I'd be happy to send it to you for shipping costs.
Also MTBR is a pretty good and big forum for bike stuff if we're talking about mountain bikes. I think there is a road bike equivalent too.

If there's a local bike program or co-op near you, they frequently offer maintenance training.

Here's a pretty decent listing of them:
