Anyone hit Cross Creek Trail in Holy Cross Wilderness? on 06/19/2009 07:57:27 MDT Print View

I'm thinking about taking my 6 year old son up there in a few weeks for a short two mile hike to try to catch some fish and pitch a tent. Anyone have any good experiences there? Nice spot to camp? Thanks much in advance!

Hi Casey,

I hiked the Fall Creek/Cross Creek loop in September of 06 and remember it being a very beautiful area. Cross Creek can be marshy in places so it would probably be wise to bring a tent (rather than tarp) for mosquito protection. Sorry I don't remember specific places to camp. Here's a preview:

I was just there. I've been on this trial about 5 times... about 2 miles in there is a great campsite thats about 25 yards from cross creek and there is several rapids and it is very pretty. i would definitely take your son up there
