Me and my buddy Jeff had very interesting trip. First driving up Friday night to Kennedy Meadows we almost hit a VERY LARGE brown bear on the road just past Strawberry. I nicked or bumped his left BIG but- And I mean big!! He went off the road quickly after he maid contact with my front end-I hope he was all right and I feel that he was.

We maid it all way to the junction to Mosquito Pass and we felt there was just too much snow to continue up to Emigrant lake and we went back to Sheep's Camp to sleep for the night.
It drizzled and hailed for almost 5 hours in the afternoon and evening..We both were in our shelters at 7:30 and slept and rested till 7:30am the next morning. I can't remember the last time I rested and slept for nearly 12 hours.. To my surprize there was hardly no mosquitoes at all just few when you stopped at a shady place...I bet in another 2-3 weeks the bugs will be out in full force after the snow melt. Here are few pitures:

Beautiful pictures. I love Emigrant. I might try to make this same trip the 2nd or 3rd weekend in July.
