When not in use, should these pads be inflated? I'm wondering if storing them compressed will compromise the down loft like in a sleeping bag.

I have always stored my Downmat with the valve open after full inflation under my bed. I am not sure if this is the right way to do it or not, but it is the way I have always stored by self inflating and inflating pads....

You don't have cats do you, David? ;)

Trying to find a place to store an inflated Exped 9 DLX in a Brooklyn apartment (with cats) is going to be a challenge.

Store it inflated in a closet or cupboard.
