Te wa those are some great albums. I think you might have a difficult time selling it as a whole group. Even with throwing in the awesome Reign In Blood! I would look at a store that buys discs and go that route.

Bought this the other day. Two awesome bands from The UK

I grew up in southern CA in the 80s and early 90s surfing and skating. I've listened to, and went to shows of, a lot of great bands. As cassettes got phased out, so did a lot of my punk albums unfortunately.

A few bands/albums have survived the shift over to cd/mp3 with me and still get in the rotation on my ipod...

Social Distortion
Los Infernos
The Cramps
X
DI
Adolescents
The Crowd
Black Flag
Bad Religion
Cadillac Tramps
Operation Ivy
Rancid
Minor Threat
Fugazi
Face to Face
Ill Repute

I remember, I used to have a bunch of great hardcore albums from bands like Uniform Choice, Youth of Today, Ignite, Gorilla Biscuits, etc. and an eclectic mix of punk from all over, back when I was in high school.

Interestingly, around that same time, my dad's friend who knew I liked X, turned me on to the Knitters and the Blasters which, over the years, has lead me down the path of becoming a big fan of American Roots Rock, old country, old rockabilly, etc.

Nice list Nick...I like all of those bands a lot...though the only one I have not heard of was Los Infernos.

Big X fan by the way!

That's pretty much all I have to say. Maybe they technically aren't punk but they are certainly heavily influenced by the genre. Tops on my list.

Melvins!

Definitely punk. Heavy as heck too. I have their first demo, and it was pure hardcore blasts from 1984 or so. Gluey Porch Treatments get played at my house every so often.

Their drummer was also Nirvana's first drummer

I think we're going to get along just fine Nick...
I mentioned the Melvins somewhere earlier in this thread.

Boris off of Bullhead is probably one of my favorites when I'm in the mood to rattle the windows and disturb the neighbors.

Ken, I'll have to look for that band. Gluey is insane.

Nice, Craig! Looking forward to meeting you.

Goggles off of Stag is unreal also. I think their newer line up with Big Business is amazing. They are so dynamic live. I saw them at Spaceland in Silverlake last January. They were in residence and played every Friday night for the month. They played multiple entire albums each night. I nearly lost my mind.

I just listened to the entire Jesus Lizard catalog straight through today in the studio. These two bands comprise about 60% or more of what I listen to while working. So good.

"Stations of the Crass" is a classic. A Björk favorite, I've heard.

Ken,
That shirt barely fits me-barely. Hiking has kept me fit over the years plus listening to right tunes on the trail. Punk Rock just makes me walk faster.

Continuing on the Icelandic thread:

the last time I was in Reykjavik (more than 7 years ago) came across an original (Smoke 7) copy of Red Cro$s "Born Innocent" in a record shop. It used to belong to a member of an early 90's Icelandic band, Stilluppsteypa, that also started out influenced by Crass.
