I didn't look at the link, but I'm thinking it is something that would allow you to carry about 300 lbs of gear? Cast-iron dutch oven cooking, vs. a beer can pot? A 10x10 tent and cot with catalytic heater, vs. cuben poncho tarp and thinlight pad. Hmmm...

Nice, Just strap one of these babies on and it will carry up to 200 lb at 7 mph continuously. Ultralight gear will no longer be needed.:-)

I can hardly wait until these things hit the civilian market.

As far as I'm concerned, this product renders UL gear obsolete. Why not carry a 5 man tent, a full sized air mattress, and a jetboil...
The sad thing about this device is that the government probably spent millions of dollars on its development, and it will likely never be purchased or used.

Strap one of these to the backpack and you don't even have to walk. Get to those popular campsites first and beat the crowds.... ; )
