Aquamira Tablets or drops? on 03/27/2009 14:55:15 MDT Print View

I've decided to try chemical water treatment, but I was hoping to get some insight from those who have used tablets and/or drops.

It seems as if drops are pretty straight forward and only require 30 minutes to work. However, the tablets seem like they are much easier to use (no mixing), but they recommend 4 hours.

Has anyone heard that the tablets only take 30 minutes as well, but liability requires the company to recommend 4 hours?

Thanks for any input.

Dennis:

Definitely get the tablets. I've written ad nauseum about this and writing more will likely bore people to death. Do a quick search and I'm sure my earlier posts will pop up.

Ben,

You're right - a simple search found your other posting (very informative, I might add).

It's tablets for me...at least for now.

Thanks!

I am feeling a heavy responsibility here... :)

Dennis -- glad the old posts helped.

Nick -- how are the tablets working out for you?

I have used the micro-pur tablets and have only waited about 30 min. If it is clear water, I think you only have to wait for 15 minutes.

Their website explains the time to wait better.

"Nick -- how are the tablets working out for you?"

Great, thanks.

Actually I had been using idodine tabs for decades. Was happy with them, other than the shelf life after the bottle is opened.

Then I read that Aqua Mira was more effective, so I tried the liquid version. Just too much work for me. The tablets are great and easy.
