With all these great photos that you have, you should seriously think about putting a photo essay together about your own trip with a bit of narration.

You can toss up a few each day and keep adding to it.

I would love to see and hear a bit more about your solo trip.

Create a full story to show the JMT from start to finish.

no, that's not a UFO, just somebody with a flashlight walking by while I was fast asleep - or maybe not?

and this view shows the same peak as well as Clouds Rest on the left, which is not just a great alternate route for the JMT in that area, it also has to be the coolest place to spend the night on top of. The view on Clouds Rest is probably second to none in Yosemite.

at least I thought at the time that there was no greater place to set up your tent than Bighorn Plateau. This is again in 1990, all alone that day, didn't see a human after we started up on Forester to get there.

the day before this image was taken in 1989, we came from Glen Pass, got to Guitar Lake at sunset, ate some food, saw the full moon rise, so we just went on to the summit of Whitney. Got up there at 3am without the need of any headlights.

3 hours later the sun came up with the moon still on the Western Horizon. The long shadow at the bottom is Mt. Whitney's shadow.

Camp high above Fish Valley before Grassy Lake, on the way up to Silver/Goodale Pass on the other side of the valley where the JMT hops from Duck to Purple Lake. 1989 again. Next day just above VVR, we had a bear try for our food, as well as a 10pm earth quake that shook the trees around us enough to have us somewhat worried.

You guys out west make me sick with jealousy.... Anyone want to house swap?

Send photos of house. We may be able to work out a swap... but I'm keeping the Sierra.
