Anyone have a good online (or even generally local) source for bulk foods?I always like to do a little background checking. You never know who might be on the shadier side of selling potato flakes. :)
http://www.maryjanesfarm.com/ -- Spendy, but excellent food. All organic.http://www.adventurefoods.com/afsearch.asp -- Has a lot of bulk dried vegetables and meat like REI sold when I was a kid.
I get my veggies from www.justtomatoes.com (they make Just Veggies). Locally, I live in the Seattle area, so I shop at WinCo, which has the best bulk section around. Otherwise, I get a lot of bulk stuff at local natural food co-op's :-)
I agree that just tomatoes is a good source. My local natural food store carries them in a pint size container. Yet another plug for the local natural food store!
I buy my bulk foods through a local health food coop or food buying club. All cities seem to have them. Even when I lived isolated on the Navajo reservation we started our own food buying club and just met the truck. Now we have the luxury of simply ordering online &picking up our food at a garage.
Try harmonyhousefoods.com for dehydrated veggies and beans.Tom
