I'm planning on making a lighter tent fly for my Trek 4 season dome tent. I already ordered the material, 52g/square meter silnylon. I'm planning on doing double lapped seams. I know a lot of people here have made flys, tents and tarps, and I just wanted to ask for any important advice or pitfalls I should watch out for. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Slippery stuff. Use LOTS of pins, a fine needle, and a low tension.
