FS: Stephenson Warmlite 2R tent, DAM, Sleeping bag on 11/28/2008 18:50:59 MST Print View

Hi everyone. Because of a lack of time to go backpacking in the winter:(
, I am selling some of my new winter gear. The following was made by Stephenson Warmlite, a small cottage maker based in New Hampshire. Check out warmlite.com for more details. I am selling the following:

1. Warmlite 2R tent: This tent was only put up once when I seamsealed it, so it is essentially new. It is double-walled, has the very neat side windows, and the extra large door. The ends are light green and the middle is a darker green. This is a tent that is capable of taking some serious wind and holds two. It retailed for $556, and I paid $504 over the summer. I am selling it for $350 shipped. Check out the reviews of the single wall version here at BPL. It was quite favorable. This is a very durable tent for 3 lbs. Let me know if you have any questions.

2. Warmlite Triple Bag and Down Air Mattress.

I have the 60" girth model, and it fits a medium built 5'10" man very well. The bag is a system that allows the user to zip on the thin top for temperatures above 25 degrees, the thick top for -10 to 20 and both tops for down to -50. The very warm down air mattress fits inside of the bag so there is no rolling off of it. This bag has quite a history, and its versatility is amazing. The sleeping bag is brand new and the DAM was slept on twice. The bag is red and the DAM is yellow. I paid $640 over the past summer. I am selling both parts together for $300. I am not selling them separately. The DAM alone costs $150 from Warmlite so the bag is actually only costing $150 from me. Keep in mind the year-round versatility of this bag.

If you are new to winter backpacking, you can purchase the tent, bag, and DAM and have a big part of what you need. If you choose to do this, I will sell you all three pieces of gear for $600 instead of the $650 that they would cost separately from me. Keep in mind the total of these pieces new from Warmlite would be almost $1200!

Please ask questions if you have them. This is elite quality gear for a fraction of the cost new.

Please feel free to PM me.

Can I ask your weight. I am measuring my girth based on Stpehensons formula but 60" may be to tight, I am 5'6", 160 lbs.

I am 5'10" and 155 pounds. I fit on it comfortably. For me, the next size up wasn't worth the extra weight and cost. I am happy that I chose this size. The bag is rectangular so there is great room, but not so much that heat is wasted.

Drats, I have a DAM (but no bag) but it is 64" size - I just checked. I think I am too big (wide)for the 60" and my wife will be to small. I also have the 2R which my son uses for scouts.

How much extra girth room do you have as I am 4" shorter and 5-7 lbs heavier?

A friend crawled in the bag to try it out because he was interested in buying one. He weighed about 170 and said that would be the size that he would buy. It had enough room for him to be comfy. He is about 5'7" or 5'8."

Which DAM? on 11/28/2008 19:55:30 MST Print View

Hi Charles. Is your DAM a Warmite? If it is another brand it won't fit in a Warmlite bag, because the Warmlite Dam isn't a perfect rectangle but tapers in somewhat at the feet.

I have a Stephensen DAM and 2R tent, VB gloves and socks for both me and my wife. I am a big fan. I didn't buy full bag because of cost and I like my Nunatak Arc-Alpnist which I pair up with DAM and it works great.

If it worked for your friend it should work for me so I'll take it. If I can't use it my wife should may be a bit small but we'll get it to work.

Please PM me info on payment/shipping.

Thanks

Chuck
