1000 Island Lake, Banner Peak, and shown here is part of Ritter Range. I've never camped there, but have spent some there on my two JMT trips. I love this area and dream of it often. Any bear problems on your vist?

Where is that Ryan? Alaska?
It will be interesting to see what Ryan reports.I will guess that it was shot in Denali National Park, about 40 miles west of the park entrance.--B.G.--
>Ju-eezus F-in' Kee-rist. What great images. Ohio is so plain and ugly by comparison. I envy youze guys.Yeah, no kidding. Y'all living from the Rockies westward are lucky!
The shot is in Denali. About 65 miles in and 2 miles or so from the road. I had a 3 night trip planned but flash flood warnings cut it down to 1. Got to see the mountain though!Ryan
Yosemite awaits!
Jay, where did you shoot that one?I'm guessing near Cloud's Rest.--B.G.--
Bob, That is Lembert Dome in the center--We were heading up to Ten Lakes..Shot was close to Tuolumne PK.

Puffy clouds at Puppet LakeYosemite trail flooded in June.
Is that in the Sawtooths? And do you have to go cross country (ie. secret stash) to get to places like that.... literally dreaming of next season.
Indeed it is, and no you don't. There are lots of trails that will get you into some very nice spots, and lots of cross country hiking that will get you into even more. That is Alice Lake just after the sun crested the ridge.I have a full trip report here: (with lots more pictures)http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22234&highlight=Idaho+hang
Nice. Definitely going to have to check it out. Between Alberta, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia, we have a pretty nice little corner of the continent. OK, back to the photos. Sorry Jay.
For the next month or two we tend to use the forest service cabins -- wooden tent season. Come February it's back to tarps. This is near the Camping Cove Cabin north of Juneau. We have gone there the Saturday after Thanksgiving for the past 6 years.
Forty-eight degrees at sunrise in June. 2,895 feet.Just beautiful!Party On,Newton
That is such a beautiful picture John.
I must give credit where it is due. The picture was taken by my hiking buddy, "Lazarus", on our last walk in the woods. ;-)Thanks for the compliment and I will pass it on to Laz.Party On,Newton
