yikes....my condolences to his family. i'm not sure anyone could have gotten there quick enough, and even then the trauma such a fall would induce might have been too much to survive at any rate.

Does this show proof that an ACR or Macmurdo PLB is the better choice? Maybe he would not have survived anyway.

Why did the family have to notify SAR? Sounds like he pressed the wrong button. Could that have affected response time? I think we will hear more about this in the days to come.
