What about a bubble wrap quilt? Just dumb or maybe feasable? Maybe with a mylar shell? I think this would be very light and warmer than a emergency sleeping bag, but very bulky. Any thoughts before I make my first test.

Way too bulky to consider IMO. You can get one of the ~13oz emergency sleeping bags that are vacuum packed to nothing if you really want to carry something like that. Google bizzard bag.

Otherwise any of the ~1 lbs summer bags make just fine emergency sleeping bags.
