I'm headed for the Kern Kaweah drainage next week and am interested in any info on bear activity/incidents in the area, especially around Junction Meadow.

tom, i don't have any good info on bears there, but wanted to wish you bon voyage for your trip!

and thanks for all your assistance with ideas about the southern high sierra - my september trip from kings canyon to mineral king and back is shaping up. all your advice has been most helpful - i'll post a gear list and trip details later. cheers!

You'll probably want to contact the local ranger station to find out this kind of information.
