When I post why does the system display my email address for spammers to steal?

It displays the login name you chose when you signed up. It looks like you used your entire email address as your login.

Any way to change my user account name without creating a new account?

If I was you to resolve this faster I would submit a request for help by going to the My Account, then My Support Issues, and submit an official support request. In my experience BPL responds very quickly to these requests.
