I'm having some trouble deciding what to bring on my first fall weekend trip. I'm most fretting over Torso clothes, with the thought that I don't like being cold. I anticipate lows around 30 at night, with general hiking starting at 35 to 40 degrees with a possible high in the mid to upper 50's.
Gear Choices ============== Marmott Chinook Wind Shirt (3.8 ozs) DropStoppers Rain Jacket (6.0 ozs) Marmott DriClime Wind Shirt (14 "gasp" ozs) Smartwool mid-weight L/S zip (9.8 ozs) Montbell UL Down Jacket (6.9 ozs) Patagonia Micropuff Vest (5.9 ozs) Short sleeve tee (5.9 ozs) Lighter less warm L/S shirt (weight unverified, but I'd guess around 8 ozs) ===============
Ideas on combinations for a two night- two day trip?
I was leaning toward: DriClime as main base layer Montbell as main insulation layer DropStoppers as sole wind/rain protection (durability?) Patagonia Vest for expanded warmth in base camp T-Shirt just in case it's abnormally warm (the DriClime will be too hot in the upper 50's, I'd switch to the T and DropStoppers).
Comments and help is mucho appreciated.
