Planning a 5 day trip in the Wind River area. I would appreciate any and all advice.Gear Lists, Routes & lakes for fly fishing, clothing, recommendations, what degree sleeping bag, clothing recommendations.
I did perhaps the most popular hike in the area as a warm-up to my hike of the Teton Crest Trail - Cirque of Towers in June 2007.Some pictures taken between storms (if the link doesn't work let me know and I'll send them to you if you want to see them):http://travel.webshots.com/album/560338004zRuemcWent in at Big Sandy and had planned on camping in the North Fork area but it rained the whole hike in and lightning was whipping all round Jackass Pass so we pitched at North Lake at the base of Sundance Pinacle and then went over the next day. My plan was to cross Texas Pass and hook back up with the Shadow Lake trail but another storm kept me off that pass and we just ran tail back via Big Sandy. I had more than enough stuff for the 3 days hike that ended up being just a long 2 b/c of the weather.Anyhow, my list was a bit heavy as I planned for the worst (sorry it is sorta disjointed):TETON HIKING LIST (minus 2 for Wind River)Pack 32oz.
