Planning on making a pair of mukluks, and fortunately my old B.S. Fieldbook has a wonderful set of plans to make them!
So a couple of questions:
outershell material: looking for a breathable material that is highly water resistant, yet at the same time quite durable, what would one recommend?
Sole: Recommendation of any old boot bottom, but any other alternatives?
Insulation: My old field book recommends low density foam, what other alternatives would one recommend?
Plan on using them for trekking in snow and snowshoeing, hope this helps!
