Water at Rest house on Bright Angel on 04/15/2008 20:15:11 MDT Print View

Does anyone know if or when the water at 1.5 and 3 mile Rest Houses is on or when it will be on? I see 2 different dates, one is "May", the other is "Varies".

We hiked out on Sunday and the water was still off at both the 3 mile and 1.5 mile rest houses. There were still pockets of snow all the way down to the 1.5 mile rest house. The trail still had sections that were icy, but it wasn't like you needed instep crampons or anything.

You need to call and ask. May is usually correct but they have frequent repair issues.

FYI, we went last weekend, and the water was on at both sites.
