Gossamer Gear Mariposa Plus sizing questions on 03/04/2008 20:42:21 MST Print View

I am thinking about buying a GG Mariposa Plus and I am wondering how the pack sizing is fitting people.

My torso is 19" with a 34-35" waist.

I keep wondering what size to order, med vs large.

For those that have this pack, how is the fit/sizing?

What size pack did you get compared to your measurements and do you feel the listed measurements are pretty right on?

Thanks

"I keep wondering what size to order, med vs. large"

Just call Gossamer Gear and ask. If you're still uncertain after that, THEN ask here.

This ain't rocket science!

I would go with a Medium! on 03/05/2008 01:58:25 MST Print View

I have a 19 1/2" torso and had a Mariposa Plus Large
It was okay and it carried the load great...but it was truly a tad too large for me. It fit my 6' 4" son a whole lot better.

I personally would go with a medium. Grant usually answers the phone over there at GG and is very helpful. Why not give them a call :) as Bob suggested.

First, I did talk (actually email) and was told,

"Sean you are on the cusp, could go either way. It might depend on how you
wear the pack. I'd say order whatever your instinct tells you, load it up
with a good "typical" weight and wear it around the house. You can always
exchange it then if you decide it's not correct. Other option is to order
both and return one.
Grant"

I don't have the money to order two packs. I asked the question here so that I could increase the chance of getting the correct size pack on the first try.

Next time I will make sure to let everyone know of all communication exchanges between the manufacturer and myself before asking a question :-)

Thank you Gail for the helpful info.
