Injini Tetratsok Socks on 03/04/2008 13:07:03 MST Print View

I am testing out a pair currently. I have heard a number of users say they have quit getting blisters once they went to injini tetrasoks. It did feel weird weird at first wearing toed socks..but wow, my toes are warm and comfortable.

I will buy a weeks worth of these if they can stop the painful blisters I get between my toes. On long trips in summer I quite often have blisters between big toe and 2cnd toe on day 2.

Best of all? I can wear these socks with my Chaco Z2's.

So.....I'll be seeing in a couple days what I think about them.

Looking forward to your review of the Injini Socks on 03/04/2008 14:16:10 MST Print View

I bought two pairs of these a few months ago, but I have yet to use them on any sort of long distance trip.

On my trip to Mt. Whitney on the High Sierra Trail last year, I did get small blisters between my toes and I am hoping that the Injini Socks will eliminate them.

Incidentally, when I was on top of Mt. Whitney, there was sa guy who had just finished the JMT and swore by the Injini socks saying that he did not have a single blister.

Just bought a pair myself... on 03/04/2008 14:32:37 MST Print View

And I'm going the other way on them. I've worn the same pair for the last couple days. Worn them everywhere. I really don't see or feel much of a difference to justify the price over my current Smartwool socks.

I'll keep at it for another day or two but I think, for myself, I'll stay away from them.

They seem to work really well for me, and I am a blister magnet. They also seem to massage my toes a bit (weird, I know).

I have been using Injinji's for about a year and have found them to be both warm and comfortable. The only downside, beyond price, is that they wear out across the top of the toes in my case because the knuckles of my toes stick up a little. I corrected this by wearing a pair of Coolmax liners over them. All in all a great pair of socks, IMO.

No Blisters on 03/04/2008 14:49:08 MST Print View

I was able to keep my in-between toe blisters at bay with liberal applications of Body Glide while doing 25 mile days on the Muir Trail. Then I heard about Injinji socks. I no longer need the lube and no longer get this type of blister even running 45 miles in a day with a 22 lb pack.

I've put about 180 miles onto a pair this year, including 2x 40mi trips. And while I was worried they'd wear out due to the seemingly thin weave (Aaron Sorenson complained of this), they're going strong. I got used to the funny fit within the first few days. The obvious plus side is the protection from sweat and grit between the toes. And you feel like a Ninja. Speakin of, coupled with that LuxuryLite Survival Stik you can star in one of Doug's action flicks.

I hope they work for you!

This is what I want to hear ;-) Not having gritty dirt between my toes is heaven when I walk!

Now I'd say I feel more like monkey-girl than ninja-girl....lol!

toe socks on 03/04/2008 16:55:35 MST Print View

Despite them being hard to get over here I wear them whenever I walk. I use a mid weight merino sock over them because I like thick socks.
They do feel strange between your toes and sometimes they pull between them a little. I love them and would never go back. I bought my wife 3 pairs and she loves them too.

Is everybody using the Merino injinji's? I am trying the coolmax version.

I've had good experiences with both wool and coolmax versions.

Just one more plug for Injini on 03/04/2008 21:05:11 MST Print View

I happened across Catra Corbett's website and found that she, too, sports the toe socks:

...her JMT 2005 late July, 8 days 3hrs...
"My feet are so sore from being wet and cold everyday. No blisters thanks to injinji socks. They are awesome."

I loved following her blog for her PCT hike last year, she is a hoot to read.

Btw, I have the coolmax Performance ones on. I am getting the hiking ones - just need to order them. I have been in them all day and wow. I heart them.

I got into them over a year ago. I used to be a blister magnet too; the toe socks stopped them all.

I even use them for basketball - where I'd get most of my blisters.

I have also been using Injini socks for the last year. I have tried both the wool and the coolmax and prefer the "performance" model made from coolmax because I seem to be mildly allergic to wool. I found the combination of the Inov-8 Flyroc 310 and Injinji socks have completely prevented blisters on my feet without requiring me to use any treatments to my feet! This is a first for me. These socks took some getting used to. I tried them something like four years ago for a few days... they drove me crazy and I gave up on them. I tried them again a bit more than a year ago when a friend raved about how great they were. The first several times I wore them I was very aware that the socks were on my feet and between my toes and I still hated them... but after wearing them around town for awhile, and few days the trail, I stopped noticing them.

I haven't had serious durability issues. The three pairs I picked up a year ago are still doing ok. During the same time period, the Wright DoubleSocks I used to wear would have needed to be replaced.

Great Socks on 03/05/2008 10:02:28 MST Print View

I switched to these Injini after many blisters and foot problems with Smartwool with or without liners. I used them on my JMT hike last fall and had absolutely no trouble the entire trip. They worked great for me and I'll continue to use them.
