The access road was pretty slick..so I left the car up on the mountain road and hiked down in. Most people with 4-wheel drive could get down. Let me tell ya, after a decent hike, coming back up the grade to get back to the car was a killer!

Yeah, looks like PA's paved hiking paths.

Joe is trying identify PA hikers, and maybe get together a UL trip sometime.

That rock path was actually a handlaid stone incline from the late 1800's early 1900's. They use to use it to drag coal cars, equipment, supplies etc. to the top of Second Mountain from the railroad. A lot of it is eroded out from the stream, but most is still intact. The eroded part actually made for a neat little rock scramble...but I was dreading taking out an ankle on one of the first trips this Spring.
