I've got two buddies from the Pac NW coming to visit me for a backpacking trip in mid Mar. I want to show them some good SW US country. Tried to get Grand Canyon permit, but didn't work out. I live in LA. Looking for anything within 12 hour drive. We are experienced and fit.

Any trip suggestions or resource suggestions (website, books, etc.) would be greatly appreciated. Here or email

I've wanted to go to the Kofa wilderness in NW AZ for a while now. My friend did a NOLS course there and raved about it.
