June-July Hike on 02/11/2008 09:17:53 MST Print View

I'm looking for suggestions on a trail to hike starting around early June and ending mid July preferably in the Northwest, but closer to the Midwest would work too. I'd like to go close to SUL, so ideally the area would be fairly warm and dry. I was considering the Great Western Trail, but I don't know anything about it, and the website wasn't helpful at all.

Also, I've heard that there is a new(ish) trail in Southern Oregon (my home state) that runs from the coast to the Eastern border. It may not be very dry, but it should be beautiful. Has anyone heard of this one?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

well, if you haven't done it already, how about the PCT from Kennedy Meadows to South Lake Tahoe? that sounds like a great few weeks to me! you could even throw the Tahoe Rim Trail on the end for a finishing victory lap around the lake (another week or so).
