Odor proof bags? on 02/10/2008 20:37:13 MST Print View

I know BPL promotes Aloksak bags for odor proof food storage bags, but somebody told me that oven roasting bags, like

http://www.alcoa.com/reynoldskitchens/en/product.asp?cat_id=1337&prod_id=1790

are odor proof for food storage. Anybody know anything about these?

I doubt any of them are odor PROOF...odor resistant maybe. Don't count on it.

i doubt they are odor proof- i used one to brine a turkey in, and the seam failed.

get the aloksak- they are amazing. to the point where i had our 3-days trash in it, folded over (not sealed), buried on the coffee table for about a month. came across it while cleaning- no smell at all, until i opened it! yuck!

the ones from www.watchfuleyedesigns.com work really well and I love that they are reuseable... I put mine through hell
