Carrying a spork on a plane
Has anyone brought a titanium spork on a plane in their backpack as carry on luggage? Permissible?
Not sure of its legality, but I carried a titanium spork and a plastic light my fire spoon/fork/knife combo in my carry-on luggage on a flight to Mexico in December. I didn't even realize the utensils were in my carry on until I unpacked in Mexico. Maybe I just got lucky. It is hard to determine what the regulations are and they are always changing anyway. I would certainly check with TSA before I would try to carry it on.
Early last year I had to check my bag or lose my titanium tent stakes. I agree with Jay, you could check regulations which have eased up a bit. Still, I know from experience that not all aiports on in lock-step.
