Gossamer Gear G5 Hyperlight Backpack on 01/06/2008 09:31:01 MST Print View

I am attempting to “declutter” my backpacking equipment. I have too many GG packs so I would like to pass this onto another UL hiker. It is a size large (torso 20”-24”). I has been used once. I had to fix a small tear in the main seam in the collar. Other than that it is in excellent condition.

For more information check out this link:

which one? on 01/22/2008 16:33:00 MST Print View

Not exactly the best link, but at least it is the right domain.

There are two G5 packs. Is this the 30D silnylon or the lighter spinnaker nylon? If you're not sure, the specs say the heavier 30D supports a hydration bladder.
Do you have a photo of the repair?
Thanks in advance.
Chris

Correction link and photos on 01/24/2008 20:53:25 MST Print View

Chris,

I just realized that the URL I listed in my original post was not the correct one, and hence your question.

Here is the correct link to info on the Hyperlight:

FYI the seam failed due to poor stitching near the top of the pack, only about 2 inches. GG sent me a small piece of material and my friend (a MYOG backpacker) sewed it on inside of the whole collar as a much stronger reinforcement. It worked well on my one and only maiden trip with this pack.

View of outside of collar showing reinforced seam.

Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Thanks

Paul
