Not exactly backpacking related, but there are so many helpful, over-educated posters in this community, I thought I'd take a shot here.
As a counsellor at Boy Scout camp in the Sierra in the '70s I painted a service patrol plaque and wrote the patrol member's names on the paint with felt pen. 34 years later this painted shingle is now an historic artifact of our lodge and the felt pen has faded. I have asked a local police crime lab to resurrect the names but haven't had any luck with their staff.
Does anyone know of any techniques that I can use to reveal felt pen residue remaining on the paint so that I can re-paint the names? UV light?
Thanks, Al
