New Golite Bags on 12/07/2007 11:46:47 MST Print View

So I just got back from the Golite sale this morning.

Amazingly they had there new line of '08 bags including the new Ultra 20 degree quilt. It was only 150 dollars!!!

I didn't have a chance to buy or weigh it, but it is listed on the hang tags as being 19 ounces! It's a typical quilt with out a hood, snaps for the neck, a draw cord for the neck (offset for comfort) and very large enclosed and fluffy footbox. It also has the typical straps underneath to tighten up the girth, I think 2 straps. Overall a very nice looking quilt. So for $150 you get a great 20 degree quilt weighing only 19 ounces.

There were other new traditional bags, but I was enamored by the quilt. I was very surprised to see the new bags as they aren't on the website and weren't at the last sale a few weeks ago. According to the price sheet there are 3 lines of bags:
Venture 40, 20 and 0 degree.
Adrenaline 40, 20 and 0 degree.
Ultra 20 Degree Quilt.

I did score some '07 Sun Dragon shoes for $50. I wish I had more funds to stock up, but alas it is the holidays. If anyone has a chance to get to Denver for the sale, I highly recommend it!

Edit: I also have the pricing sheet for all of the products on sale if anyone would like to know what something would cost. I just reply in the forums and I'll post the prices, when I get a chance. Examples:

Jam 2 Regular Price $100 Sale price $70.
Ultra 20 Degree Quilt Normal- $225 Sale- $150
Inferno Jacket Normal- $200 Sale- $100

I want that quilt. I was just at the sale and I don't know how I resisted. It looked really nice and I want to try it out.

I was actually surprised at how wide this quilt was in in all sizes. The regular looked like it would be perfect for my size (5'7") and a side sleeper. It had a big enough girth adjustment that I could lay on my side and still have coverage with no gaps, which is IMO a little hard to find, especially at that weight. I have a feeling that this would be my go to bag for 3+ season packing. Add a warm pad and some warm layering and it could probably dip into the teens and still be somewhat comfortable. I may have to whip out a "card" and get in debt to try this out. It's almost too good of a deal to pass up!

Nope. Mostly closeout stuff. Especially good deals if you wear men's large (sales samples). The new bags were the only new item I saw there. Packs are on sale but not a huge amount for the new stuff.

I really would like to get that quilt, but I don't think it will factor into the budget this spring. I like my WM Highlight well enough, it just would be nice to have something that gets down to 20* with the ability to stay toasty and keep sleeping. I want to see some of the reviews on it soon.

You can barely make your own for that kind of money. Man! Wish I lived in Denver.
