Re: New bike
Beautiful. I just sold my road bike and MTB and bought a cyclocross bike. I've been riding a good deal of trail and I'm finding it's plenty capable. Yet I can still do a 30 mile ro...

All I can say is good stuff guys. I enjoyed your report Mike. I'm highly jealous...this always happens at a time of year that's impossible for me to attend.

Re: Re: boots of trail runners for 11 year old.
Developing feet is nonsense. I think the biggest danger to your kids feet would be wearing something heavy, stiff, and more likely to make them trip. Not to mention more likely to cause blister...

Who Cares?
I love mine. No sunblock necessary, plenty of ventilation, full coverage. A must in the desert or extended Sierra summer trips. The most comfortable sun hat I know of.

I know you used to be the go-to guy for this Greg, thanks for the response! Looking for one for a food bag liner and one for a pack liner. One or two extra would be great but two would work out...

Montbell Thermawrap jacket
A great jacket- my XL weighs in at just over 10 oz. with its stuff sack. Very simple, functional design- perfect for 3 seasons in the Sierras when combined with a base layer and/or shell system.

Dirty Girl Gaiters
These are great "dry" gaiters. As a trail runner I shopped and shopped for a good, breathable, and lightweight pair...not much out there. Most mainstream gear makers seem to seriously over...
