My Locale No Mountains Close-by VA
About Me I have been camping since I was little with my parents. I started backpacking with the scouts culminating in the Philmont expedition where I truly fell in love with backpacking. I have been out of the game for awhile until a trip to New Zealand where I fell back in love with the outdoors and am looking to dive fully back into it. I am slowly updating my gear.

Trekking poles and new FAA rules
I heard on the news that ski poles along short bladed knives will be allowed as carry-on items starting in April. Since trekking poles are basically modified ski poles I am assuming they will fall ...

Materials
I would not say waterproof, but I did see some beading. To quote the website "increased comfort and weather resistant over nylons commonly used by other quilt makers."

Keens again
I ended up with the Keen Gypsum. They seem to be much better constructed than the Targhee IIs and had much better reviews. I did not like how the Salomons or Merrells and others felt on my feet. ...

FS: Enlightenment Equipment Revelation
This was my first quilt and used it over 8 nights. I should have gotten it in long. It is in perfect condition though I lost one of the stretchy cords since I removed them (I think longer ones wo...
