Only thing I can suggest is that it is not yet fully dry and that the down is still clumped up. Every down wash manufacturer I know of advises to wash and dry in large commercial front-load machine...

I recommend Ruta Locura Carbon Fiber stakes as functionally similar to the easton stakes at a lighter weight. I've been using these for some time and am very happy with them.

One way to look at the decision
I believe that shelter style/design is all about the weather. Any shelter works well when the weather is good, the real question is how well does it work in the worst weather you reasonably expect...
