Re: Back to the 1700s
I've thought about the idea of doing old school food. I'm always interested to see what food was packed because it's so different from today. Seems like they just took basic ingredients...

Re: BA Fly Creek on AT- keep or swap now that I use trekking poles
Using hiking poles for your shelter sounds like a good idea, except that most people have some sort of pole failure at some point on the AT. I used and broke four poles in total during my thru-hike...

Coghlan's filters
I'm surprised I never see anyone mention these filters when people talk about how they make coffee. They make really good coffee, you can use a little stick from the bush instead of the plastic...

Re: One-person tent using 0.5oz netting
Bob, normally I'm the grammar Nazi. I thought this forum was relatively informal but I guess I'll have to step up my game. Dave, I've been resisting the urge to make some immature co...

Re: 0.5oz Noseeum
So, I received several yards of the new lightweight no-see-um netting (NS50) from Ripstop by the Roll. Kyle over at RBTR gave me the netting free of charge in order to do a build and a review. I pl...

Re: Aquamira water treatment drops and long dstances
I thru-hiked the AT with drops and didn't have any issues. Most of the people I hiked with used the same drops too. I did have some belly issues when I got home, but who knows the cause. The ci...

Re: Silpoly 20Dx50D floor material?
I definitely agree with what's been said. Poly on the inside would make slipperiness lessof an issue and the low stretch of polyester on a floor would be neither here nor there. I'm still m...
